The niece of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was told by Fox News’ Glenn Beck that he was wearing a bulletproof vest at his "Restoring Honor" rally in Washington, D.C. last weekend, the New York Daily News reports.

The vest apparently was worn under his blue button-down shirt and tie during the event. Beck said that he had risked his life by attending the event, as did other speakers.

King’s niece, Alveda King, choose not to wear the protective vest, Beck said, according to the story. "She is a marked woman for standing on that step with me," he said. Beck also called a V-shaped flyover of a flock of geese a divine sign. "I think it was God’s flyover," he said.
