A reality star couple is considering filing for bankruptcy and are homeless after spending $10 million on things like plastic surgery, six cars and private jets, reports Lifesandstylemag.com.
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, the former "The Hills" stars, now owe $2 million in taxes, the story says. "We were immature, worrying too much about the famous part instead of the actual business part," Pratt says. "In hindsight, we shouldn’t have spent any of our money. We should have been low-key and saved. We spoke with a bankruptcy attorney and I’ve looked into unemployment checks."
The couple didn’t foresee that "The Hills" wouldn’t be successful four years after its 2006 debut on MTV, the article notes. When the show was cut to 10 episodes from 20, they had already spent money in advance for the last 10 episodes, although they weren’t paid for them. "We thought ‘The Hills’ was going to be like ‘90210’ and we’d have another five to 10 years," Pratt says. "We never saw ‘Jersey Shore’ coming."
