CBS’s mainstay crime series "CSI" is coming up on a milestone, and to mark the occasion the program is bringing back one of its most popular alums. The network announced that original cast member Marg Helgenberger will rejoin the show for its 300th episode.

Helgenberger will revive her character Catherine Willows, who will help solve a 14-year-old cold case. The episode is set to air Wednesday, Oct. 23.

"It’s back to the beginning for ‘CSI’s’ 300th episode, when the team investigates a homicide in the home of a reclusive former casino mogul who was a suspect in a similar crime in 2000," the network announced. "The CSI team recalls who they were and where they were in order to solve the cold case."

Helgenberger was with the show for its first 12 seasons. Season 14 premieres Sept. 25, with current cast members Ted Danson, Elisabeth Shue and George Eads.
