Morgan Freeman Working on Drama Series for CBS

CBS is working on a drama series from "Joan of Arcadia" creator Barbara Hall and Oscar winner Morgan Freeman, reports Deadline.com. The project is about a fictional female secretary of state, the story reports.

The drama will look at the personal and professional life of an unconventional secretary of state as she juggles a complicated family life and office politics, the story notes. Hall is writing the project, which comes from CBS TV Studios and Freeman’s Revelations Entertainment.

The development comes as NBC is dealing with its own secretary of state project, a miniseries about Hillary Clinton. As previously reported, the NBC project has raised the ire of the Republican National Committee, which voted last week to ban the network from the 2016 GOP presidential primaries. CNN, which is also working on a Clinton project, was also banned by the RNC.
