The CW has given a script order to an actress on the NBC series "Parks and Recreation" for an hourlong dramedy project. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Rashida Jones and her older sister, Kidada Jones, are developing the project, called "Ladyballs."
Rashida Jones played Louisa Fenn on the first two seasons of "Boston Public," which aired from 2000-2004 on Fox. She also had a run on NBC’s "The Office," playing Karen Filippelli, and recently has appeared as Ann Perkins on "Parks and Recreation."
The new project is about two 20-something long-lost friends who reunite after realizing they’ve been dating the same man, the story says. After plotting to humiliate the cheater, they decide to start a business dedicated to helping people who have been wronged.
The project is from Warner Bros. Television, where Rashida Jones is under a two-year pod deal, the story adds. "Prep School Confidential" author Kara Taylor will write the script and co-executive produce.
