After weeks of speculation about his relationship with New York socialite Lauren Silverman, Simon Cowell told the BBC that he’s "proud to be a dad."

While reports have suggested that Silverman is pregnant with Cowell’s child, neither had confirmed the reports.

The "X Factor" guru told the British broadcaster, "Things are changing in my life right now, for the better. She [Lauren]’s a very special girl."

As previously reported, Cowell allegedly broke up the marriage of Silverman and her husband, Andrew Silverman, and is listed as a co-respondent in the divorce filing, which alleges adultery. Cowell’s representatives earlier this month had denied the report.
