ABC has prevailed in what’s being reported as a "competitive situation," landing a new comedy project from one of the creators of "The New Normal," Deadline.com reports.
The network bought the single-camera comedy from Ali Adler, the co-creator of NBC’s "The New Normal." The comedy will be produced by ABC Studios and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s studio-based Fake Empire, the story says.
The project, written by Adler, is a divorce comedy that looks at how people behave when the other parent has the kids.
"You get to drink too much and binge-watch ‘Breaking Bad’ without checking homework or giving baths — it’s about the silver lining of divorce," the story notes.
