E! has cast British actress Elizabeth Hurley in a starring role in a new project. Deadline.com reports that Hurley, known for her work in films including "Bedazzled" and "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" — and for "That Dress," a black Versace "safety pin dress" she wore to the L.A. premiere of then-boyfriend Hugh Grant’s "Four Weddings and a Funeral" in 1994 — will star in the pilot "The Royals."
The project comes from the "One Tree Hill" team of creator Mark Schwahn and producers Brian Robbins and Joe Davola, the report notes.
The drama is about a fictional royal family, and is said to look at how men and women are corrupted by power, money and desire, the story says. Hurley will play Queen Helena, who is dealing with the death of her oldest son and trying to break apart a relationship between her middle son and his American girlfriend.
