ABC Bumps Up Orders for Two Shows — Even Though Neither One Is Setting the World on Fire With Its Ratings

ABC has given a confidence booster to a couple of shows that probably needed some good news. The network ordered three additional scripts apiece for its new Tuesday comedies "The Goldbergs" and "Trophy Wife," Deadline.com reports.

The order is called a "largely symbolic gesture," and it doesn’t mean the network will pick up the extra episodes. Both shows hit low marks Tuesday night, with "The Goldbergs" earning a 1.6 and "Trophy Wife" pulling a 1.3 in adults 18-49.

Still, ABC is said to be encouraged by the buzz around "The Goldbergs" and its Live+3 bumps, and pleased by the creative direction of "Trophy Wife," the story says.
