A Fox science-fiction series has added a five-time Emmy winner who is also a Tony Award winner. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that John Larroquette is joining "Almost Human" in a recurring role.

Larroquette will portray Nigel, a roboticist who is said to be "sympathetic, highly intelligent and a bit broken." The drama will debut over two nights on Nov. 17 and 18. The show is set in 2048, when police officers are partnered with androids to fight increasing criminal activity.

Larroquette is known for his role on "Night Court," which earned him four of his five Emmys as he dominated the category of outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series from 1985-1988. He later added a fifth Emmy for a guest performance on "The Practice."

He has also starred in "Boston Legal" and "The John Larroquette Show," and he won a Tony in 2011 for his role on Broadway in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."
