Fox has placed a series order for a new action-adventure. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that the project, "Hieroglyph," is set in ancient Egypt.

The series received a 13-episode order from Fox. Created by "Pacific Rim" co-writer Travis Beacham, the show is about a thief who is pulled from prison to work for the pharaoh. Production will start early next year.

“We wanted to do a show about deceit, sex, intrigue in the court and fantastical goings-on — no better place to set that than ancient Egypt,” said Kevin Reilly, chairman of entertainment for Fox.
