HBO is working on a comedy, produced by Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions, which is based on the novel "These Things Happen" by television writer and producer Richard Kramer, reports Deadline.com.

Kramer, of "thirtysomething" and "My So-Called Life," will write the script and executive produce the project, which is based in New York City and focuses on a gay couple and a straight couple who share a teenage son.
