HBO is working with a well-known multi-hyphenate comedian on a special showcasing his one-man show "Ghetto Klown," Deadline.com reports. The comedian is Colombian-born John Leguizamo, who is also an actor, producer and screenwriter.
The project marks a return to HBO for the comedian after an 11-year break, and will be his fifth one-man show for HBO. The others include "Mambo Mouth" from 1991 and "Sexaholic … A Love Story" from 2002.
"Ghetto Klown" is about his climb to stardom, and is based on his memoir "Pimps, Hos, Playa Hatas, And All the Rest of My Hollywood Friends." Fisher Stevens, who directed the 2012 Broadway production of the show, will also direct the HBO project.
