Is This the Final Nail in the Coffin for Nicollette Sheridan’s ‘Desperate Housewives’ Case?

A judge denied actress Nicollette Sheridan’s effort to revive her "Desperate Housewives" case, siding with ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Hollywood, Esq.

"A Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Friday accepted a summary judgment ending Nicollette Sheridan’s long battle against ABC over the circumstances that led to her being dropped from the show ‘Desperate Housewives,’" the piece notes.

"Sheridan had sought a new trial based solely on her claim that ABC retaliated against her for complaining about working conditions," the article says.

As previously reported, the court had sided mostly with ABC in her lawsuit, which alleged that she was unlawfully terminated when her character was killed off. She initially sued for $20 million.

With the latest ruling, Deadline.com reports: "It’s finally over — at least for now."

The Deadline story adds: "Even if the case had gone forward, it was going to be a hard one as [creator Marc] Cherry was dismissed as a defendant in the original case in early 2012. If ABC’s motion had failed, the retrial was set to start December 2. Attorneys for Sheridan are expected to appeal today’s ruling."
