NBC Cancels Summer Drama Series

The Peacock Network has canceled a summer drama series. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that NBC won’t be bringing back its drama "Camp" for a second season.

The network canceled the low-cost series after a 13-week first season. The series starred Rachel Griffiths and focused on a camp for adults and their kids. It was picked up in January with a straight-to-series order.

"Although stronger than NBC’s other scripted summer effort, ‘Siberia,’ ‘Camp’ did little in the way of ratings," THR reports. "With time-shifting, the series averaged just a 1.2 rating among adults 18 to 49 — opening to a reasonable 1.5 rating in the key demo with 5 million viewers and steadily dipping throughout its 13-week run."

The report notes that two other dramas that rolled out this summer on broadcast nets — ABC’s "Mistresses" and CBS’s "Under the Dome" — have been picked up for second seasons.
