A cable channel is stepping in to give a canceled NBC series a new lease on life. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Lifetime is reviving "Betty White’s Off Their Rockers" after the hidden-camera series was canceled by NBC.
Lifetime has ordered 20 original episodes of the show, which will air on the network in 2014, although a premiere date hasn’t yet been set. NBC aired the first two seasons of the show, with its premiere coinciding with White’s 90th birthday.
"Off Their Rockers" won’t be the first show that Lifetime has saved from television death. The network also revived "America’s Most Wanted" for a 25th season, although it later canceled the series, and picked up "Devious Maids" after ABC passed on the drama, the story points out.
