An Oscar-winning actress will join TNT’s alien invasion drama "Falling Skies" in its fourth season. Deadline.com reports that Mira Sorvino is signed on for the show.
Sorvino will play Sara, a woman who used to be a graphic designer, in a recurring role set for next summer. Her character meets guerrilla fighter John Pope, who convinces her to join the resistance.
The casting marks Sorvino’s return to TNT, after she starred in the drama pilot "Trooper."
Sorvino, the daughter of actor Paul Sorvino, won an Oscar for her role as Linda Ash, the proverbial "hooker with a heart of gold," in the 1995 Woody Allen movie "Mighty Aphrodite."
