"New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel has sold comedy projects to Fox and NBC under her deal with 20th Century Fox TV, reports Deadline.com.

With her producing partner Rivka Sophia Rossi, Deschanel has sold a project based on the nonfiction book "Pitch Perfect" to Fox. Called "Freelancers," and written by "Pitch Perfect" author Mickey Rapkin, the project is about a lawyer who has to start over after getting fired and finding himself single.

The NBC project, "And Lies I Tell My Daughter," is based on a column by Julia Obst called "Hellogiggles." The project is written by Deb Schoeneman of "Girls" and is about a mom who finds that honesty isn’t always the best route.
