A drama series that is waiting in the wings at CBS will bow sooner than previously scheduled, including a special preview. The network announced that "Intelligence," starring Josh Holloway, will get a preview Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The preview will air following an original installment of "NCIS." The show will move Jan. 13 to its regular time slot, Monday at 10 p.m. "Intelligence" was previously scheduled to roll out Feb. 24.

"Hostages" will end its 15-episode season with a two-hour season finale on Monday, Jan. 6.

CBS describes Holloway’s character, Gabriel, as "a high-tech intelligence operative enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. With this implant, Gabriel is the first human ever to be connected directly into the global information grid. He can hack into any data center and access key intel in the fight to protect the United States from its enemies."

Marg Helgenberger makes her return to network TV in the series, playing Lillian Strand, director of the elite government cyber-security agency that supports Gabriel and oversees his unit’s missions.

Also in the cast are Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley and PJ Byrne.

Michael Seitzman, Tripp Vinson and Barry Schindel executive produce the series for ABC Television Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.

  1. Sounds kind of like a more serious version of “Chuck”.

  2. I am an old, so to me – without seeing it – it sounds like an updated version of ‘Search’, an early 70’s show with Burgess Meredith (as V.C.R. Cameron!) overseeing operatives (Hugh O’Brian, Tony Franciosa, and Doug McClure) who were wired up with implanted electronics.

  3. Reminds me of Jake 2.0 from 2003
