A veteran character actor who was one of those familiar faces whose name remained unknown to many viewers has died. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Al Ruscio, who portrayed crime boss Leo Cuneo in "The Godfather: Part III" and had a memorable appearance on "Seinfeld," died Nov. 12 at 89.

Ruscio portrayed the new restaurant manager at Monk’s in a 1993 episode of "Seinfeld," in which Elaine accuses him of hiring only buxom women. But the waitresses turn out to be his daughters.

In the late 1980s ABC drama "Life Goes On,’ he played a grandfather who loved opera.

In "The Godfather: Part III," his character screams at Joe Mantegna’s character, "Joey Zaza, you son of a bitch!," the story notes.

His other TV roles include parts on "One Day at a Time," the early Showtime series "Steambath" and "The X-Files," among many others.
