A well-known actor is set to bring back a character he last played 15 years ago in an HBO movie, and this time the project is an HBO drama series.

The actor is Laurence Fishburne. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Fishburne may reprise his role as Socrates Fortlow, an ex-con featured in a series of novels by Walter Mosley.

HBO is developing the project as a drama series, "The Right Mistake," with Fishburne and Mosley executive producing along with Helen Sugland, Tom Russo and Diane Houslin.

Fishburne appeared as Fortlow about 15 years ago in the HBO telepic “Always Outnumbered,” written by Mosley and directed by Michael Apted.

Now, the actor’s Cinema Gypsy Productions and Fox Television Studios are working on the series adaptation, based on a number of Mosley’s novels featuring the character, the story says.

Fishburne is currently appearing in NBC’s “Hannibal.”
