A+E Networks rolled out details about the company’s new cable channel, FYI, which replaces its Biography Channel.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the new lifestyle-focused network "will relaunch July 7 as an ‘inspiration engine’ for a core audience of upscale women in their early 40s, president Jana Bennett tells THR. The inaugural slate will look to reflect the varied passions of its viewers, with programming devoted to fashion, food, style and design."

The inaugural lineup of programs includes two home renovation shows, a style makeover program and a show that puts a spin on the YouTube favorite "Epic Meal Time."

Also on tap: "The Feed," a mix of food and comedy hosted by Gail Simmons ("Top Chef"), Marcus Samuelsson ("The Taste") and comedian Max Silvestri.

Both "The Feed" and "The Epic Meal Show" reflect a programming philosophy that puts an emphasis on humor, the report notes.

Said Bennett: "It’s time for lifestyle to show that it can have a sense of humor. There’s a lot of comedy in life, and yet the old-fashioned instructional lifestyles shows didn’t leave a lot of room for humor."

THR adds: "’Epic’ will come out of the gate with 16 half-hour episodes featuring Harley Morenstein, the ‘Sauce Boss,’ and his kitchen crew as they invent new dishes. The lightly scripted entry, which Bennett says will be different from the iteration G4 developed, is being produced by The Collective and Nexttime Productions."

The report notes that Giant Pirates’ "The Feed" is billed as "part road show, part buddy comedy and part talk show, and will launch with six hourlong episodes."

The story adds: "Other forthcoming FYI shows bowing this summer include a food competition series (‘World Food Championships’), a style makeover show (‘B.O.R.N. to Style’) and a pair of renovation efforts focused on competing housing projects (‘Renovation Row’) and extreme downsizing (‘Tiny House Nation’)."

A+E Networks also announced today that it has hired Lisa Mallen as Senior VP of Ad Sales for FYI Network. Please click here to read the full announcement on Mallen’s hiring.
