CBS’s Tuesday night drama lineup proved to be more than a match for the network’s broadcast competition, based on Nielsen overnights. TVbytheNumbers.com reports that the Tiffany Network coasted to a comfortable win in the key 18-49 demo — with a dominant performance in total viewers.

Most of the CBS lineup was up from its most recent numbers. "NCIS: Los Angeles" surged 21% to a 2.9 average in the 18-49 demo and "Person of Interest" ticked up 5% to a 2.0, while "NCIS" held steady with a 3.0. "NCIS" was easily the night’s top show in total viewers with 19.32 million.

The closest any of the broadcast competition came was NBC, which got a 2.2 average in 18-49 out of its two-hour "Biggest Loser" finale. The special "Winter Gold: First Look at the Sochi Olympics" managed only a 1.4.

Fox and ABC finished in a tie for third in the broadcast standings, well off the pace. Fox’s best number in viewers 18-49 was a 1.6 for "New Girl," off 16% from its most recent original. "Dads" delivered a 1.5, equaling last week’s result; "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" settled for a 1.4, losing 26% from its most recent Tuesday original; and an earlier "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" repeat managed a 1.3.

ABC’s "Killer Women" continued to struggle in the 10 p.m. slot, matching its series low with an average rating of 0.7 in viewers 18-49. Otherwise, the network’s results were mixed: "Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." dipped 5% from its most recent original to a 2.1, while "The Goldbergs" rose 13% to a 1.7 and "Trophy Wife" climbed 11% to a 1.0.

For prime time overall, CBS’s 2.7 average led the way in adults 18-49, followed by NBC (1.9 average), Fox and ABC (both at 1.4) and Univision (1.3). CBS owned total viewers, averaging 15.9 million to outdistance NBC (6.7 million), ABC (4.6 million), Fox (3.4 million) and Univision (3.3 million).
