‘Dancing with the Stars’ Regular Dropped, Replaced With Fox Personality

One of the regulars on the ABC competition series “Dancing with the Stars” is off the show, with a personality from the Fox cable world set to take her place.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the dancing competition has named Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews as its new co-host, with Andrews set to replace Brooke Burke-Charvet. After co-hosting seasons 10 through 17 — and after winning season seven of "Dancing with the Stars" — Burke-Charvet has been dropped from the program, the report notes.

Andrews will continue working at Fox Sports, which she rejoined in 2012 after spending eight years at ESPN. She was also a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” in its 10th season, which aired in 2010.

In a statement, executive producer Conrad Green said Burke-Charvet "has been a wonderful part of the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team. We’d like to thank Brooke for her years of great service.”

ABC declined to comment on Andrews’ hiring, the story notes.

The show will return March 17.

  1. May want to double check your picture… Erin looks a lot like Carrie Underwood.

  2. Thanks, Sean … I think you’re right. We’ve replaced that picture. It apparently snuck past us during a Google search.
