A fantasy TV movie franchise is under consideration to become a television series. TVLine.com reports that cable channel TNT is contemplating a project based on “The Librarian” and its sequels.

The three movies starred Noah Wyle, who would reprise his title role in the new project, the story reports.

Called “The Librarians,” the project would focus on four regular people who are picked by Wyle’s character Flynn to work for The Library, a fellowship of intellects and heroes, the story says. The four people would investigate and battle magic.

Wyle is in discussions to appear in the debut and make guest appearances in other episodes, the story notes. He’s currently starring in TNT’s “Falling Skies,” which will return in June.

The TV movie “The Librarian: Quest for the Spear” appeared on TNT in 2004, and was followed by two other movies in the franchise, "The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines," airing in 2006, and "The Librarian: curse of the Judas Chalice," in 2008.

Along with Wyle, all three TV movies in the series have starred Bob Newhart and Jane Curtin, with Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis appearing in the first two.
