HBO has announced that it will bring back a series for a second season. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that the pay cable net renewed its gay-themed dramedy “Looking.”

The half-hour program will start production on a second season later this year, although the number of episodes hasn’t been announced. The show, now winding up its first season, has seen a rise in viewership numbers since its debut, the story notes.

About 519,000 viewers tuned in for its most recent episode, a series high, and about 50% more than tuned in for its premiere.

Three cast members have been promoted to series regulars for the second season: Lauren Weedman, who plays Doris; Raul Castillo, who plays Patrick’s (Jonathan Groff) love interest; and Russell Tovey as Patrick’s boss, the story notes.
