NBC Shelves Comedy Project

Mar 12, 2014  •  Post A Comment

NBC has decided to shelve a comedy project that has been in the works at the network. Deadline.com reports that the network is backing off on the pilot “The Money Pit,” at least for the time being.

The project is based on the 1986 movie starring Tom Hanks and Shelley Long.

The pilot, from Amblin Television and Universal Television, was shelved after problems with casting the leads, the story notes.

“This is the second pilot so far this season to get pushed for casting reasons. The other one was also an NBC multicamera comedy, ‘Fifth Wheel,’” the story notes. “There are hardly reasons for concern as NBC had ordered the most comedy pilots, 14, for next season.”
