CNN has reportedly shot a pilot for a new show built around a former MSNBC mainstay. TVNewser reports that the shoot was for a panel-style show featuring former CNBC and MSNBC host Dylan Ratigan.

“Network insiders tell us Ratigan’s latest test episode, which is one of many the network is experimenting with, was shot [Wednesday] night at CNN in New York,” the story notes.

If the show is picked up, it’s unclear where it would land on CNN’s schedule. The network recently announced its 9 p.m. ET time period would include rotating original series, with a rotating lineup of hosts sitting in on "CNN Tonight" at 10 p.m.

Ratigan left MSNBC in 2012. His highly political "The Dylan Ratigan Show," in which he frequently set his sights on the relationship between government and big business, was reportedly the highest-rated show on MSNBC outside of prime time.

Ratigan was a creator of CNBC's "Fast Money" in 2006 before launching his MSNBC show in 2010.
