One of the regulars from MTV's hit reality show "Jersey Shore" is returning to television with a new series. TheWrap.com reports that TV Guide Network has ordered the reality show "The Sorrentinos," featuring Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.

The cable channel ordered eight half-hour episodes, with production set to start this week in New Jersey, the piece adds.

The show, billed as a “docu-comedy,” will feature The Situation’s family, including his mother, sister and brothers.

“We're excited to take viewers, who met Mike in a very different time and place of his life, and bring them along for this ride with ‘The Sorrentinos,'” said Brad Schwartz, entertainment president at the network.

Sorrentino starred on “Jersey Shore” from 2009-2012.
