With NBC's two-hour "The Voice" and ABC's two-hour "Dancing with the Stars" going head-to-head Monday night, one network came away with a dominant win in the key 18-49 demo while the other rolled to a comfortable victory in total viewers, based on Nielsen overnights.

TVbythNumbers.com reports that NBC won the night — and "The Voice" won the head-to-head battle — in the 18-49 demo, while ABC and "Dancing" took the win in total viewers. "The Voice" was the top show of the night by far in the demo with a 3.3 average rating — off 6% from a week ago, but easily outpacing the 2.3 for "Dancing," the night's second-highest-rated show.

But "Dancing with the Stars" delivered the best number of the night by a comfortable margin in total viewers, drawing 14.20 million to 11.67 million for "The Voice," as ABC coasted to first place in the metric for prime time overall. "Dancing" was up 5% from last week in viewers 18-49.

Third-place CBS was paced by "2 Broke Girls" in its time-period premiere at 8 p.m., with a guest appearance by Lindsay Lohan. But the program matched its all-time low in the 18-49 demo, registering a 2.2 — down 4% from the show's most recent original.

CBS's new comedy "Friends With Better Lives" came down to earth after its premiere, which had the "How I Met Your Mother" finale as its lead-in. Monday's installment of "Better Lives" settled for a 1.8 average in adults 18-49, down 31% from the premiere.

Elsewhere on CBS, "Mike & Molly" ticked up 5% from its most recent original to a 2.1 average in 18-49, while the season finale of "Mom" drifted down 14% to a 1.9.

Fox's Monday night drama lineup remained listless, with both "Bones" and "The Following" settling for 1.4 averages in viewers 18-49 as Fox finished fourth among the big four broadcast nets. "Bones" was off 13% from a week ago, while "The Following" equaled last week's series low.

In the battle of the drama repeats at 10 p.m., NBC's "The Blacklist" was best in class with a 1.6 average in 18-49, easily topping ABC's "Castle" (1.2 average) and CBS's "Person of Interest" (1.0).

For prime time overall, NBC's 2.7 average led the field in the 18-49 demo, followed by ABC (1.9 average), CBS (1.7), Fox (1.4) and Univision (1.1). ABC won total viewers with 12.2 million, ahead of NBC (9.8 million), CBS (6.1 million), Fox (5.0 million) and Univision (2.7 million).
