Shakeup at Hulu as Key Executive Departs

Hulu’s management team is undergoing a shakeup with the departure of one of the company's top executives. Deadline.com reports that Charlotte Koh, the head of content development at Hulu Originals, is out.

Koh's departure comes about a week after Hulu hired Craig Erwich, the former president of Warner Horizon, as senior vice president and head of content for Hulu. His hire was one of the first from new chief executive Mike Hopkins, with Erwich tapped to lead the content and programming strategy for both Hulu and Hulu Plus.

“That move apparently made things more crowded with Koh, who helped launch Hulu originals like animated ‘The Awesomes’ (renewed for Season 2 to air this summer), comedy ‘The Wrong Mans’ and docu-series ‘Behind The Mask,’” the story reports.

The report adds: “But that push came at a time when Netflix and Amazon made major strides establishing slates of network-quality comedy and drama series, and the hiring of Erwich signaled Hulu’s intention to become a major player in those arenas.”

Koh worked at Hulu since early 2011. Before joining the company, she was senior vice president of business development at Marvel Studios.
