After the success of AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” Syfy is getting in on the undead action. The New York Post reports that the cable network placed a 13-episode order for “Z Nation."

The action-horror series tracks a group of people trying to save humanity after a zombie virus has killed off most people.

The project is from The Asylum, the producers of Syfy’s campy TV movie “Sharknado.” Karl Schaefer of “Eureka” will executive produce and serve as showrunner.
