Syfy’s “Sharknado 2: The Second One” is turning to crowdfunding to finance an ending that will rival the original television movie, reports EW.com’s Inside TV.

The Asylum, the studio that’s making the sequel, is asking fans to help raise $50,000 through a crowdfunding venture on IndieGogo.

“You guys made SHARKNADO the most culturally relevant film of last year. Now we want you to be able to say that this time, you actually had a hand in making the film. You're welcome!” the studio wrote on the crowdfunding site. “We don't want to give away too much, but here's what I can tell you: there will be sharks, chainsaws, and chainsaws being used in the vicinity of sharks.”

In return for giving money, donors will receive rewards including a copy of the screenplay or an advance copy on DVD or Blu-ray.

The campaign will run through May 30, and the “Sharknado” sequel is set to air July 31 on Syfy.
