TNT has given the go-ahead to a series that will feature an A-List cast, with the female lead character to be played by Rebecca Romijn. Deadline.com reports that the new project is “The Librarians,” an offshoot of the popular movie franchise “The Librarian.”

Noah Wyle will executive produce and will bring back his starring character from the "Librarian” movies in a recurring role, given that he’s currently starring in TNT’s “Falling Skies.”

The 10-episode project, which will debut later this year, will also feature Bob Newhart and Jane Curtin, who are reprising their roles from the movies, as well as John Larroquette, John Kim from “Neighbors” and Christian Kane of TNT’s “Leverage.”

“The Librarians” features Romijn as Eve Baird, a counterterrorism agent who wants to keep an ancient organization safe. The group, which collects and preserves powerful artifacts, is overseen by Jenkins, played by Larroquette.
