Yahoo is adding two new original series in a move to expand its online entertainment, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.

The two new half-hour comedies are from producers Paul Feig, Mike Tollin and Bryan Gordon, and will aim at competing with other original series on streaming services, such as shows on Netflix and Hulu, the story notes.

“Other Space” is from Feig and tracks a group of space explorers who get trapped in a dangerous alternate universe. “Sort of like ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ meets ‘Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy,’” the piece notes.

“Sin City Saints” comes from Tollin and Gordon, with the latter directing. It’s about the management of a fictional Las Vegas basketball team, and what happens after the team is bought by a Silicon Valley entrepreneur.

Both shows are slated to debut next year.
