Premiere Dates Set for ‘The Strain’ and Other Summer Series

FX and FXX have set the premiere dates for “The Strain” and other summer programs, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.

The networks’ new summer shows will start with “Tyrant,” from producer Howard Gordon of “Homeland” and starring Adam Rayner, Jennifer Finnigan and Ashraf Barhom. It will debut June 24 at 10 p.m. on FX.

“Wilfred,” about a man played by Elijah Wood who has a relationship with his talking dog, Wilfred, will return for its fourth and final season June 25 on FXX. Also returning is “The Bridge,” which will be back for its second season July 9 on FX.

The drama “The Strain,” which is adapted from the vampire novels by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, will debut July 13 on FX. It tracks a team of scientists who looking into a viral outbreak that causes vampirism.

“Marred,” a new comedy starring Judy Greer, will debut July 17 on FX, while the comedy “You’re the Worst” will premiere July 17 on FX.
