Simon Cowell is producing a reality competition show for Univision. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the project is a boy-band competition called “La Banda."

The project will look for young men throughout the U.S. and Latin America to create “the ultimate Latino boy band,” and is the first major sale for Cowell since Fox canceled “The X Factor” earlier this year, the story notes. The cancellation of “X Factor” left “the reality kingpin without an on-air stateside gig for the first time in over a decade,” the report says.

The show will debut on Univision in 2015.

"I'm delighted to be partnering with Univision on this new format," Cowell, who appeared at Univision’s upfront presentation, said. "They are fantastically ambitious, and most importantly for ‘La Banda,’ they are totally focused on discovering and creating the next music superstars. There is a huge opportunity for this band, and we are going to be giving the power via this show to the millions of teenage fans.”
