TV Actress and Producer Dead at 79

A veteran television actress who went on to a career as a producer and director has died. The Los Angeles Times' Show Tracker reports that Nancy Malone, known for a long string of guest roles on shows including “Dr. Kildare” and “The Partridge Family,” died Thursday at 79 of pneumonia stemming from complications related to leukemia.

Malone's work as a producer earned her an Emmy in 1993 for the special “Bob Hope: The First 90 Years." Her directing credits included episodes of “Judging Amy,” Dawson’s Creek” and “Star Trek: Voyager.” She also helped start the Women in Film networking group, the piece adds.

As an actress, Malone was a regular on "Naked City" from 1960-1963, earning an Emmy nomination for best supporting actress in 1963.

Her long list of guest appearances also includes "The Twilight Zone," "The Outer Limits," "77 Sunset Strip," "The Fugitive," "Bonanza" and the original "Hawaii Five-0."

  1. She starred in an episode of Twilight Zone and I found her strangely appealing and had to look into her past history. She was a very talented and beautiful actress. I noticed she just passed recently. She us only 8 years older than me so I’m sure I’ve seen her on television but just never paid much attention to actors names. Thanks for keeping her memory alive and I really enjoyed the Twilight Zone movie she was in.
