ABC Family has renewed a teen-focused drama series for two additional seasons. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that the mystery series “Pretty Little Liars” will be back for its sixth and seventh seasons.

That means the series will become ABC Family's longest-running original series, and will be on air through at least 2016. The sixth season is slated for mid-2015, with the seventh cycle planned for mid-2016.

In a statement, ABC Family President Tom Ascheim said: "'Pretty Little Liars' has taken its place in the zeitgeist and reigns supreme in pop culture. I am glad to bring another two seasons to our audience, because 'A' has a lot in store for our Liars."

The show, which just aired its fifth-season premiere Tuesday, is ranked as ABC Family’s most-watched show in certain demographics, including adults 18-34 and adults 18-49, the piece notes. It’s averaging 3.8 million viewers overall.

It’s also one of of the most tweeted-about shows on TV, according to Nielsen.
