The Fox drama series “The Following” will have a new showrunner for its third season, with Jennifer Johnson of “Cold Case” signing on, reports Deadline.com.

Johnson will replace creator and executive producer Kevin Williamson in the role, although Williamson will continue to be involved in the show and will remain an executive producer, the story adds. His focus, however, will be on the new CBS drama “Stalker.”

The move is part of Johnson’s overall deal with Warner Bros. TV, which produces “The Following.” The deal marks her return to WBTV, where she spent five years before signing a deal with 20th TV two years ago, the story adds. She started as a supervising producer on “Cold Case” and later became its showrunner.
