HBO has signed a two-year exclusive first-look deal with a producer and director who has been piling up an impressive track record. Deadline.com reports that the premium cable channel signed “Breaking Bad” executive producer and director Michelle MacLaren.
The story reports: “The pay-cable network has had its eye on MacLaren for a while — she has become one of the go-to directors for HBO’s flagship drama ‘Game Of Thrones,’ directing four episodes over the past two seasons. She is now directing an episode of HBO’s new drama series, ‘The Leftovers.’”
MacLaren shared the Emmy for best drama that “Breaking Bad” won last year, and she also has two directing Emmy nominations, the piece notes. She’s also working on the “Breaking Bad” prequel, “Better Call Saul.”
Earlier in her career she was a producer on a series of "Moment of Truth" TV movies, and co-executive produced "Harsh Realm," "The X-Files" and "Night Stalker." She also directed episodes of "The X-Files," "Without a Trace," "NCIS" and "Hell on Wheels."
