Katie Couric has taped the last episode of her syndicated talk show “Katie.” TVNewser reports that the final show was taped Thursday.
The final run of shows will air in the next few weeks, with repeats set to air throughout the rest of summer. Couric will next take on a new role as Yahoo! News Global Anchor.
“We’re also hearing from insiders that Couric dropped by her old stomping grounds last week. Following a Q&A on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe,’ Couric stopped by the ‘Today’ show offices, where she was spotted speaking with former colleagues,” the piece reports.
The co-host seat on “Today” will be available this summer when Savannah Guthrie goes on maternity leave, the story notes. Asked whether Couric might return to “Today,” where she worked for 17 years, NBC News President Deborah Turness recently suggested a plan with “homegrown talent with perhaps a few surprises mixed in.”
