The star of the film “Life of Pi” has joined the fourth season of the Showtime drama series “Homeland,” reports EW.com’s Inside TV.

Suraj Sharma will portray a Pakistani medical student named Aayan Ibrahim, who ends up dealing with Claire Danes’ Carrie Mathison. The story says the role is “heavily recurring.”

The fourth season will start production later this month, with the show set in Islamabad and Kabul. The show will air new episodes in the fall.
