MSNBC Regular Who Has Been Off the Air Is Set to Return — But Something Is Different

One of MSNBC's mainstays, who has been off the air since April, is set to return to the cable channel. TheWrap.com reports that Lawrence O’Donnell, who has been recovering from a car accident, appeared on “The Rachel Maddow Show" to announce he will return to MSNBC’s “The Last Word” on Monday.

O’Donnell “had a starkly different look when he popped up, sporting a full beard. As O'Donnell explained, the manly facial hair was the result of strict doctor's orders. Due to bleeding concerns he was advised not to shave during his recovery period,” the story reports.

Maddow had some fun with his beard, introducing her interview segment with him by saying, “Now with 100% more whiskers!” O’Donnell was injured when a taxi he was riding in crashed.

The piece adds, “O'Donnell admitted that he's been disconnected from the news cycle during his convalescence and isn't yet up to date. He's got about three-and-a-half days to get caught up and find out if the Iraq war is indeed over, as he joked it was. Maddow refused to give him any spoilers.”
