VH1 has renewed Nick Lachey’s role on its daily morning program “Big Morning Buzz Live,” reports Deadline.com.

Lachey is known for being the lead singer of the boy band 98 Degrees and for starring on the reality show "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica" with his then-wife Jessica Simpson. He will return as host of "Big Morning Buzz Live" in the fall, after joining the show at the start of its current cycle in March, the story says.

He succeeded the original host, Carrie Keagan.

“At the time, the singer/TV personality only committed for the spring but VH1 brass were hoping for him to stay on depending on his schedule,” Deadline reports. “That has been worked out, and Lachey will remain on board when ‘Buzz’ returns with originals in September from its studio overlooking Times Square.”
