Universal TV has signed “Parks and Recreation” co-executive producer Matt Murray to a two-year overall deal, which will keep him on the NBC comedy while also transitioning to Fox's “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports.

Murray will also supervise and develop new projects as part of the deal. He will remain with “Parks and Recreation” through its series finale, but then shift over to “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” as co-executive producer. Both comedies are created by Mike Schur.

“Matt has been a valuable writer on our gem of a show, ‘Parks and Recreation,’ and we look forward to extending our relationship with him at Universal Television," said Universal TV Executive VP Bela Bajaria in a statement.
