Endemol production company Darlow Smithson Productions has signed an exclusive agreement to track and follow the selection and training of astronauts enrolled in the Mars One program, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Netherlands-based project aims to establish a human settlement on Mars.

The TV project will track the program, which attracted more than 200,000 applicants who sought to become the first humans on Mars. Only 705 short-listed applicants are remaining, with those candidates slated to take part in a training program to select the final group. The mission, scheduled to take place by 2025 with four astronauts aboard, is a one-way trip to Mars, the story adds.

The first program in the series will air in 2015, the report notes. DSP has produced other projects about space, including “Neil Armstrong: First Man on the Moon.”
