Bloomberg has named a new head of U.S. live television, filling a spot left open by the departure last year of Andrew Morse for CNN. TVNewser reports that Bloomberg hired Claudia Milne, who joins the news organization from BBC News.

Milne started her career in the BBC’s documentary unit, and moved to Washington, D.C., in 2004 to work as a senior producer for “Newsnight.” She has recently served as editor of the BBC’s American news site, the story adds.

Bloomberg senior executive editor Josh Tyrangiel wrote in a memo to staff that the thing he’s “most excited about is bringing in a person who radiates intelligence and humor, and has such a clear affection for the eccentricities of journalists and newsrooms.”
