One of the stars of a series that was canceled after two seasons on NBC appears poised to resurface with not one role but two, in the network’s upcoming live broadcast of the musical “Peter Pan.”

Deadline.com reports that Christian Borle, who played Broadway writer Tom Levitt during the 2012-2013 run of NBC’s musical drama “Smash,” is headed to “Peter Pan.” He may play both Captain Hook’s sidekick Smee and the Darling children’s father, Mr. Darling, in the production, which is scheduled to air Dec. 4.

The live production stars Allison Williams in the title role, and features Christopher Walken as Captain Hook. Borle has some “Peter Pan”-linked experience, as he portrayed the pirate Black Stache in the prequel “Peter and the Starcatcher,” for which he won a Tony in 2012, the story says.

The casting marks the first for “Peter Pan Live!” involving a cast member from NBC’s hit live staging of “The Sound of Music,” the report notes.
