Amazon is moving forward with a children’s comedy project. Deadline.com reports that Amazon Studios placed a pilot order for “The Kicks,” based on a best-selling book series by Olympic gold medalist soccer player Alex Morgan.

The comedy is produced by Full Fathom Five with David Babcock of ABC Family’s “Twisted” writing and serving as showrunner. The project is about a 12-year-old soccer player who is about to be tapped as the captain of her school soccer team when her family moves to California, a competitive state for the sport.
